Prints! Some people love ‘em, others prefer to stick with solid colors. I definitely come down on the side of prints (of course it depends on what the print looks like); I think printed pieces are always a good way to spice up your wardrobe.

Printed plus-size shirts or blouses with solid pants are one way to incorporate prints into your wardrobe. This printed tiered top with georgette layers not only has a fun black and white print, but is flirty and feminine at the same time.

And this wrinkle-resistant short-sleeved shirt comes in a variety of fun prints that work with jeans. Throw it on over a tank top, cami, or short-sleeved t-shirt for a splash of color.

Printed skirts can make a statement, too. This plus-size Gillian Grey ™ circle skirt comes in fierce leopard print that you can pair with the leopard print top, or wear with a solid colored shirt. And for a fun feminine print, try the contrast ruffle skirt.
Wherever you stand on prints, it can't hurt to have a few in your wardrobe. Go have some fun!
With summer slowly coming to an end (it’s still really hot, but it is coming to an end), it’s time to start thinking about shoes. (Do I really need an excuse?) Summer slides are fun, but when the weather starts to get even a little bit cooler, it’s not nearly as comfortable to slip bare feet into sandals.
One of the styles that’s been very popular for the last few years are flats of various kinds, from ballet flats to more athletic-looking flat shoes. These flats combine comfort (no painful high heels) with style, so you look awesome even while you’re staying comfortably on the ground.

One fun athletic-looking flat that would still work for the office is this lycra slip-on. The rugged soles with cool details make this a super-trendy shoe. Wear with skirts, pants, or jeans.

Here are some great microsuede ballet flats with a quilted toe. These work great with trousers or jeans and come in four fun colors. These woven ballet flats are more subtle, but the woven leather texture adds some exciting detail.

And finally, for pairing with jeans, casual skirts, or leggings, these casual Mary Janes. Sporty and fun, they are a great, comfy weekend shoe—a bit like sneakers, but infinitely more stylish.
Okay, most of the time when I write these blog posts, I have trends I like to highlight. But this post isn’t going to be a neat little package of style, because I have some odds and ends to show you.
(Basically, I’m just going to point out some awesome stuff that I like.)

For example, this smock-neck top and tiered skirt is so much fun. A great mix of casual, feminine, and chic. Perfect for vacations, day trips, and casual weekends. You can separate the pieces or wear them together—and they’re both cotton jersey and washable. The blouse is off-the-shoulder, which is a great way to frame your face.

Classic leggings are a good basic piece for any wardrobe, and these plus-size leggings are perfect for wearing under long tunic tops and shorter dresses. Leggings are very “in” right now, and while some brave girls choose to pair them with short t-shirts, most people prefer a little more coverage! But with the right top, leggings can work for almost anyone.
Got any favorites of your own?
With summer winding down, it’s a great time to stock your swimsuit drawer. I know that sounds strange, but this is the time of year when bathing suits are discounted and you can get some great deals. Also, if you get a chance to take a winter beach vacation, you can pull out a brand-new swimsuit without having to hunt one down in February!

The Delta Burke ® shirred halter is a retro plus-size bathing suit that I really like. It’s got a concealed tummy control panel, a high back, and a built-in soft cup bra, all of which work together to slim the body and make you look fabulous!

If you like a skirt option, the tie-front swimdress gets the job done in style. Empire waists are one of the most flattering dress styles. The animal print on top draws the eye, and the ruffled skirt is flirty and feminine. Definitely a good choice.

And for fuller coverage, the plus size Swim Short is lightweight while still providing tummy control and support. Just pair this with a tankini top for complete swim outfit!
One fun trend that I’ve seen around lately is the “boyfriend” style clothes. Boyfriend clothes are the looser-fitting, comfortable pieces—like stuff you might swipe from your man when he leaves them lying around
Boyfriend-style pieces are nice for relaxing weekends, but they can be appropriate for work settings too, as long as they’re not too casual.

The boyfriend v-neck tunic is one of these adaptable pieces. It’s light cotton, so perfect even for days that are a little warm, especially if you’re spending time in air conditioning. It’s got a v-neck so you can layer it over a tank or cami. The khaki color works well with jeans, but you could also pair the other colors with khaki pants.

The boyfriend roll sleeve cardigan is another comfortable piece that’s good for layering. It’s long, with pockets to keep your hands warm or to hold your valuables. Throw it over a t-shirt or a tank top when you get chilly…it’s like a jacket, but a bit lighter and more casual.

Another boyfriend piece that’s perfect with jeans is this seersucker boyfriend jacket. It’s inspired by guys' clothing, but it’s cut and tailored for women. The light fabric makes this a wonderful summer jacket, and you can roll up the sleeves for contrast and a relaxed look.
Boyfriend clothes make a fun and comfy addition to your summer and your fall wardrobe. Keep your eyes peeled for this relaxed clothing style!
