I remember the first season I received a compliment from a complete stranger inside the tents at Bryant Park during New York Fashion Week. I'd spent a lot of time prepping for the events of the week. Every detail was meticulously thought out including accessories, hair and makeup. The compliment I received instantly validated all my hard work, preparation and determination - I was recognized by someone within fashion's orbit for having great style.
The number of sartorial "streetstyle" blogs are growing rapidly - only fueled by the recent success of such bloggers proudly displayed front row at Dolce & Gabbana's recent show in Milan. I appreciate these bloggers for their unique photography skills, eye for detail and their passion for the industry, however why are there never individuals over a size 6 featured on these sites?
Finally, someone has created a site specifically highlighting the well dressed larger ladies (and men!) of NYC. The Manfattan Project utilizes a number of photographers to capture real bodies in real fashion in a real way. You never know, you could be next!

IMHO the young lady in this photo looks great. Hers is one of the truly believable outfits I've seen in the project. I realize it might be a generational thing but I had to do a double take and look up the word 'sartorially" I though it might be related to "satire". quite a few of the photos look like fashion don'ts.
Are they making fun of us big girls?
