Attending New York Fashion Week certainly has its advantages - you get to see the latest looks & trends from the hottest designers - but it also makes you want to have pieces from the next season already in your wardrobe. Spring/Summer 2010 is shaping up to be an unconventional Spring, full of rich greys, deeper shades and night-inspired styles. Fortunately, this means you can find similar looks in stores for Fall & Holiday to purchase now. Silhouettes has items that are so on-trend, they look like they've been plucked from the runway especially for your closet.
For Spring/Summer 2010, Donna Karan mixed the masculine textures of traditional menswear looks with feminine detailing to give daytime looks a little edge. For a similar effect, try the Open Front Jacket ($59), which utilizes the ruffled edge to soften the herringbone texture.
Vera Wang extended the jumpsuit that's already made the transition from retail stores to the streets. A perfect time to wear this runway-worthy style is for the upcoming holiday season. Try the Surplice Jumpsuit ($69) styled with statement jewelry and a killer pair of heels for Holiday night out.
What did you see come down the Spring runways that you want to wear now? Your suggestions could be used as inspiration for a future post!

There's just something about Elle of The Demoiselles. She's equally parts sassy, beautiful and fashionable. We love her for her fashion sense and how honest she is about the wardrobe challenges she faces. In between her work at Broke & Beautiful and The Demoiselles, we caught her for a quick 4 questions on Fall style.
SS: What are your favorite trend(s) for Fall?
Miss Elle: I'd have to say loose-shaft boots, skinny trousers, and socks with heels.
SS: What is one trend you wish would go away?
Anything reminiscent of the 80s, anything related to looking homeless in designer gear, and thing that reminds me of watching Pretty Woman.
SS: What is your favorite Silhouettes piece?
I love the Open Front Jacket because it's beautifully draped, while still having structure enough to be a jacket! Looks deliciously cozy, as well as versatile.
SS: If you could wish one thing for plus size women, what would it be?
That plus-sized manufacturers would start to understand that plus-sized women DO NOT WANT TO BE HIDDEN in a crappy, billowy clothes! Stop making huge, airy dresses - we have legs - they're nice - and we want to show them off! We like interesting cuts! We love modern shapes! Give us a little credit - we might be "plus sized", but we're not blind!
The chain links add just the right amount of flair while the v-neck is sophisticated and flattering. Pair this top with fall boots or flats and you're ready to walk out the door!
September is here! This Shimmer Tunic Sweater is a great transitional piece to add to your wardrobe, ready to wear now. It is comfortable, sophisticated and in a versatile neutral color. Perfect to wear to work or out for a nice dinner.
I took to the streets of Soho in New York City to ask real women about their wardrobe challenges. What do you try to conceal when you're getting dressed in the morning? What do you try to accent? As an added bonus, I asked these sassy ladies if they could design their perfect outfit, what would it be?
Even though I wasn't able to interview you, I want to know about your wardrobe challenges. Leave them for me in the comments below!
