Sandals are my favorite summer shoe. Of course you can pop them on to run to the store or whatever, but sandals come in formal styles, too. They’re basically appropriate for every warm-weather occasion. So here are some formal-style sandals you can try for your next big event!

This strappy gold or silver dress sandal is just beautiful. And very feminine and delicate. You can pair these with a long evening dress, a short cocktail dress, or a skirt set for an evening of dancing under the stars. (Or wherever you’re going.)

The patent buckle sandal will shine wherever you go. The ankle straps give this sandal a more secure fit, but they’re still fun and feminine. I love the look of patent leather with dresses or skirts.

Another t-strap sandal, but this one is a slide, so you can just slip your feet in and go. The heel is low enough to be comfortable and high enough to be flattering. These slides work with dresses, and the metallic neutrals are nice to pair with brown or gray pants, too. But don’t forget the patent black!
I love long shirts. No worries about whether or not to tuck them in, plenty of coverage, and they’re just plain comfortable! Tunics are a perfect example. Fortunately they’re also something that’s “in” this season, and there are so many variations.

For example, this embroidered tunic. A cotton linen blend keeps you cool, but the real treat is the beautifully embroidered flowers across the front. It comes in navy, black, grass, and natural.

Another idea: this bead-trim tunic. Wooden beads and coral-like trim make it fun, and the three-quarter length sleeves make it nice for summer or fall weather.

For something unique, try the peachskin asymmetrical tunic. The flutter-sleeves, deep side slits and asymmetrical hem equal instant drama! And the colors, either watermelon or kiwi, make you stand out.
Tunics are great with pants, leggings, or capris. Since they are loose, they work best when pants are slightly more fitted. Check out more plus size tunics here.
So you’ve heard of the maxi dress (it’s a great option for summer), but have you heard of the shirt dress? It’s another awesome option.
Shirt dresses are a nice mix of casual and formal. The collars and button-up style are professional without being fussy. You can wear them to the office, and then out for a casual drink afterward. And cuff bracelets are a perfect pairing with this style.

Two amazing plus-size shirt dresses: 1) this wrinkle-resistant tailored cotton dress comes in raspberry or French blue stripe. It’s washable and easy fitting, but still fitted enough to be flattering and give a nice shape. 2) This printed cotton voile plus-size shirt dress. It’s also tailored and fitted, and the print is a fun way to mix it up. If you want to go extra casual, you can throw on a pair of leggings underneath.

When you’re looking for a new addition to your wardrobe, these plus-size shirt dresses are a stylish and trendy choice, but still really classic. Check ‘em out!
When you think about the clothing that works best for mixing and matching, is there anything more versatile than a camisole? I love them! If you aren’t using camis, you are missing out on an amazing piece. Layering is a major trend right now, and camisoles can form the foundation for just about any outfit.

This lace-trimmed plus-sized camisole could be worn by itself, but the pretty, feminine trim works especially well when peeking out from underneath a jacket or a plain blouse.

This highneck cami has an underwire bra built right in! It’s sometimes hard to find built-in bras that offer real support (they’re usually just shelf bras), but this camisole has got a real underwire. The high neck makes it great underneath shirts or jackets, and it’s constructed to lay smoothly without wrinkles.

The rib-knit camisole is looser, with a more relaxed fit. Like the lace-trimmed cami, it can be worn alone, but it also works under a cardigan or blazer. This cami comes in a wide variety of colors… neutrals like black or white work great for pairing, but for a fun change, try mango, raspberry, or sky blue.
Camisoles really are the basis for dozens of great outfits. Get started mixing and matching!
Sometimes it’s fun to really show off your jewelry. To wear something big and fun, like a ring. These big pieces don’t work for every occasion, but when you’re going out for a drink or hitting a cocktail party, sometimes it’s fun to use a piece of jewelry as a conversation starter or just as an accent to your outfit.

This jade and sterling cabochon ring is one example of a beautiful (and big) piece of jewelry that stands out. The yellow stone is bright, bold, and perfect for making a statement.

Slightly smaller, but still stunning, is this green jade and pearl ring. The color is so eye-catching! And the pearl and peridot combo is really unique …you’ll be the only one in the room with a ring like this.

Turquoise is a big deal right now, and this big simulated turquoise and silver ring really pops! The bold design makes this a great option for when you want to try something new and different.
