I am all about great fashion and checking out celebrity style…but sometimes even the stars fail miserably (as do we all). Here are some celebrity fashion fails that I’ve found recently:
My friend said that in this pic, Rihanna looks like a muppet. The green feathery top is completely wrong on so many levels. Ugly and unflattering. She looks pregnant, and she’s not. Plus the matchy green top and pants are just too much.
Well, Kim Kardashian chose an interesting ensemble to wear to the launch of her new fragrance. Purple and orange? GAH. But that’s not the worst of it. Everything seems to fit poorly, the top is unflattering.... I believe that this is what’s known as a hot mess.
And here is celebrity Charlotte Ross at the recent premiere of the movie “A Good Old Fashioned Orgy.” Good lord, what was she thinking? Crazy pattern? Yep. Fringe? Yep. This dress has all the elements of a major fail.
Seen any good fashion fails lately?
She’s got a hot song, a best-selling album and she is only 22 years old! Not to mention that fabulous voice. So how does Adele choose to dress herself for those nights out?
Here she is at the 2009 Grammy’s in all-black dress with a hot green coat:
And here at the 2009 VH1 Diva Awards. This style is fabulous on her, and the gold embroidery embellishments are amazing.
And here at the 2011 Brit Awards, again in black. As usual, this dress looks good, but it would be nice to see a pop of color in her wardrobe sometimes. Bring back the green coat!
Back at the beginning of the Obama campaign and shortly after becoming First Lady, Michelle Obama’s style was the talk of the fashion world. Some of the initial excitement has faded, but I thought it would be fun to take a look at what Michelle is wearing now, especially when it comes to fancy evening gowns.
Did you see this dress from the dinner with Queen Elizabeth? I LOVE this beautifully elegant and amazingly flattering white dress and long gloves.
In January 2011, Mrs. Obama wore a red Alexander McQueen gown to welcome Chinese President Hu Jintao to a White House State Dinner. While I tend to prefer sleeker lines, she does still look red hot.
And here she is in May 2010 at a State Dinner with the Calderons of Mexico in a stunning blue sparkly one-shoulder.
Of course we’ve all heard about Lady Gaga and her giant egg/horns outfit. She definitely uses her clothes to shock people and generate buzz. But what about some of the other stars at the Grammys? What looked good and what didn’t? What would you choose to wear?
Rihanna got a little bit daring in her white dress that paired sheer panels with ruffles. I think this gown did a good job of showing off while still leaving something to the imagination.
Nicole Kidman worked a stylish print dress—something that you don’t see all that often, since most women seem to choose solid colors for their red carpet looks. But this print is beautiful.
Scroll through any set of Grammy photos and you’ll see that metallic fabrics were incredibly popular this year. Selena Gomez went with a shimmery gold dress and some smashing accessories.
Who do you think was the hottest Grammy attendee?
It’s Hollywood award season, and that means the stars are showing up in their hottest (and sometimes weirdest) attire to stand on the red carpet and be seen. I love checking out the clothes.
Christina Hendricks showed off her curves in a black lace long-sleeved dress, which I liked simply because it’s a little different than the typical strapless evening gown style that most of the women choose.
On the other hand, there’s something really classic and elegant about those strapless evening gowns—like Mariska Hargitay’s choice.
I love Kelly Kapoor on The Office (played by Mindy Kaling), but I’m not sure how I feel about her dress choice. All that ruching is not exactly flattering and just seems messy.
But I LOVED Tina Fey’s red patterned dress—a classic with a floral twist!
And Angie Harmon made some kind of statement in this corset-boa concoction. Is it wrong that I don’t HATE it?
What were your favorite looks from the SAG awards?
