Yes, February 14 is just around the corner, and whether you’re hitting the town with your significant other or going out with your single friends, now is the time to think about what you’re going to wear. This is the time to look good!
Want a dress? This black boatneck dress is sexy and incredibly flattering with trim that shines. And this Surplice dress hugs the slim parts of your body to emphasize your curves in the best way possible. The red version is a head-turning favorite.
But if you’re thinking you’d rather go with pants and a hot top, there are so many options! The vintage lace top is feminine and pretty in pink (or black, if you prefer) and this embellished blouse with flutter sleeves and chain necklace detail is also a sophisticated choice. And for shear georgette style, check out this delicate-looking pleated tunic.

Bold prints and floral prints are trending right now in a big way. If you’re missing some spark in your wardrobe, adding something bold or brightly printed (floral or otherwise) can be a great way to spice things up.
One example of a way to be bold and floral is this beautiful plus-size top. The cascade brings in another fun trend, too. Pair it with a black cardigan for days at the office and you’re ready to go!
Another very pretty print option is this smocked blouse. The blue and purple swirls make this georgette top stand out. And this paisley print tunic is bold and fun, with an uneven hem that gives you an individual style that pops.
Make sure you keep bold prints and florals in mind as you shop this fall!
Well, we can talk about sweater weather all we want, but the truth is, it’s nearly time to pull out the coats and jackets. And what’s more fun than a new coat? (Well, other than a trip to the beach). These are a few of my favorite jackets and coats for this winter:
-The boiled wool jacket in beautiful fall colors is a great alternative to a blazer and will keep you very warm. You can’t wear this one as a winter coat, but it’s a great fall layering piece.
-This faux leather cascade jacket is HOT! And the animal print collar just makes it even more stylish. Soft, warm and just a little bit bad, this is the must-have jacket for autumn and beyond.
-The plus-size peacoat. The peacoat is always a classic, and this great coat is updated for plus sizes while still retaining all of its great style. It’s got a great feminine fit and plenty of colors to choose from.
Sometimes you just want to wear something that looks different—something unique, that doesn’t look like everyone else. It’s fun to make a statement or to start a conversation about something you’re wearing.
-Try a unique style. Something like this tuxedo blouse, while it comes in subdued colors, is a different cut and style than many blouses. It’s sheer, so you can pair it with a cami (if you don’t, you’ll REALLY make a statement!) and trousers. Different styles like this always get attention.
-Reverse the expectation. Most people wear printed tops with solid bottoms, but why not change things a bit and wear print pants and a solid top? These floral pants are one way you can mix it up. Another option is this tie-dyed skirt. The delicate bands of color make it a standout.
I’ve talked before about how great layering can be, especially on fall days when the temperature can change from cool to warm to cool again. Cardigans of all kinds are an awesome way to make sure you’re warm enough, indoors or out. Plus, there are tons of prints and styles to choose from, so adding a cardigan can also add spice to your wardrobe.
You can choose a chic cardigan like this to wear with business clothes or stylish jeans. Having one elegant sweater like this is great for evenings, too, just throw it on and go.
For something fun that can go from casual to fancy, check out a cascade cardigan like this one. It’s soft, flowing and feminine.
And finally, for something completely different, try this Lion Print cardigan! The cat is embellished with silver-studded eyes, nose and whiskers.
Blazers are the fall essential that every professional woman needs. They pull together an outfit and give you a business look that’s feminine and stylish.
This Gillian Grey ™ washed linen-blend blazer is light enough for even warm late-summer weather. It’s got flattering princess seams and a modern stand-up collar.
Another washed linen blazer from Gillian Grey ™ is this fully-lined linen piece with three buttons and patch pockets. The sophisticated look and softness of pre-washed linen make this a great fall choice.
Finally, this single-button 2-way stretch ruffle collar blazer moves with your shape and flatters it at the same time. The draped lapel is unique and ultra-chic and the asymmetrical close adds an interesting touch.
Plus-size blazers are a great addition to your wardrobe and a variety of styles and colors lets you mix it up. Make sure you have at least one for fall!
What’s an outfit without accessories? I mean, you can pick clothes and shoes, but sometimes it takes a bracelet or earrings or the perfect necklace or belt to tie everything together.
This floral stretchy bracelet is one way to add pop to your outfit. Pair this piece with jeans and a t-shirt to really add some color and fun. It would also look great with a black or neutral colored dress, or really any dress that coordinates with the bracelet’s colors.
A long necklace like this black and white pearl and metallic piece helps dress up a plain outfit to add some flair for a night out. It also works for more fancy attire, like a black dress or dressy white blouse. Because it’s black and white, it also works with pieces that contain lots of color and can be used to pull an outfit together.
In the end, the accessories you choose can really make your outfit. So try to mix it up and see what transpires!
The word “seersucker” makes me think of old southern men in seersucker suits drinking mint juleps on their porches. I think because that’s the way it’s used in books I’ve read. But there’s a reason why people in the south wore seersucker—it’s the perfect warm weather fabric!
Seersucker is very light and made of woven cotton. According to Wikipedia, “Seersucker is woven in such a way that some threads bunch together, giving the fabric a wrinkled appearance in places. This feature causes the fabric to be mostly held away from the skin when worn, facilitating heat dissipation and air circulation. It also means that pressing is not necessary.” (No ironing? Awesome!)
So there are plenty of seersucker options that aren’t suits!
Like this plus-size jacket. It’s the perfect warm weather jacket…if that’s not an oxymoron. Seriously, you can wear this thing on all but the hottest of days.
Next up, the pants. They do coordinate with the jacket, but you can wear them separately with a white tee or tank and still stay cool. Lightweight and very comfortable.
And if it’s still too hot for pants, the seersucker capris do the same job but give your legs some more breathing room. Throw on a flowing white top and you are ready for the hottest summer weather.
Linen can be a tricky fabric to wear, yet it remains a perennial and perfect choice for summer. Lightweight, linen should be worn loose (but not baggy) and preferably wrinkle-free. To keep linen from looking too casual, bring a little sparkle into your Summer wardrobe with these recommended pieces:
Crochet Bodice Blouse - $49 The feminine detailing of this top makes it versatile for day or night!
Gillian Grey Washed-Linen Wide Leg Pant - $44 Wide leg pants look amazing on those with fuller hips and these are cut so beautifully, no one will know they have a drawstring waist.
The Gladiator Sandal - $34 These aren't any ordinary gladiator - the simplicity of this sandal makes them wearable for seasons to come, yet luxe enough for a night out.
Floral Chain Necklace - $34 The length of this necklace makes it incredibly versatile, while the subtle silver and gold plays off the natural softness of the linen.
