Dressing In Style

So you’ve heard of the maxi dress (it’s a great option for summer), but have you heard of the shirt dress? It’s another awesome option.

Shirt dresses are a nice mix of casual and formal. The collars and button-up style are professional without being fussy. You can wear them to the office, and then out for a casual drink afterward. And cuff bracelets are a perfect pairing with this style.

Two amazing plus-size shirt dresses: 1) this wrinkle-resistant tailored cotton dress comes in raspberry or French blue stripe. It’s washable and easy fitting, but still fitted enough to be flattering and give a nice shape. 2) This printed cotton voile plus-size shirt dress. It’s also tailored and fitted, and the print is a fun way to mix it up. If you want to go extra casual, you can throw on a pair of leggings underneath.

When you’re looking for a new addition to your wardrobe, these plus-size shirt dresses are a stylish and trendy choice, but still really classic. Check ‘em out!

Keepin’ it Casual (Part 2)

Wearing business casual clothes to work is great, and a common dress code in a lot of office settings.

So the rule for shirts (for women) is nothing too revealing and nothing TOO casual. Tank tops, etc. are out. Shirts with collars are good, but you don’t have to stick to collars, since there are lots of dressy shirts that don’t have them. (Your mileage may vary, of course. Check with HR to be sure.)

Here are a few great plus size shirts that fit under the umbrella of “business casual.”

The embroidered mandarin collar blouse. This pretty, feminine shirt is great for work, and it’s a little bit different, too. Loose fitting, comfortable, and still business casual—and the embroidery is a nice touch.

The embellished Gillian Grey linen tunic works well over a pair of business casual pants. It’s washable, too, which is always great for work clothes, and the embellishments make things pop.

The pullover buccaneer top comes in some really fun colors: raspberry is my favorite, but the blueberry and lime are so much fun, too. Easy-fitting, cotton voile, and washable, this shirt will (almost) make it fun to go to work in the morning!

Make sure to investigate some of the other plus size shirt and blouse options to brighten up your work wardrobe.

Teed Off

With summer weather in full swing, it’s nice to spend some time in t-shirts (and jeans, or skirts, or shorts). T-shirts are just so easy and cool – great to slip on after work or for the weekend.

But you don’t have to stick to plain colors or just white. Many plus-size t-shirt styles may be basic, but that just means they’re a great canvas for any kind of design or color you can think of. I’m going to highlight three of the silhouettes.com plus-size t-shirts that are unique, but don’t forget to check out some of the basic options, too.

This is a fun short-sleeve tee with a great graphic floral design. It comes in three colors, so you can choose between coral, khaki, and white. This t-shirt looks awesome with a pair of jeans or a casual skirt. T-shirts and skirts are a great summer pairing!

Another t-shirt option is this printed beaded tee. The beads add a little flair to the design, and if you want a dark color option with a little bit of a twist, this is the shirt you’re looking for!

Finally, this pretty jewel-neck t-shirt with the blue and green floral print pairs perfectly with jeans or white pants. Jewel necks are flattering because of the way they highlight your collarbone and drape so flatteringly.

Check out your plus size shirt options and enjoy staying cool this summer!
